Terms of Business

Libra Bookkeeping Services will complete your bookkeeping using Sage Line 50 or Quickbooks, up to Trial Balance for the accounts to be handed to your accountant at the yearend. Any reports calculated will be either be monthly, quarterly, or annually as agreed in your terms of engagement letter.

Libra Bookkeeping Services engagement of work will commence from the date of the signed terms of engagement letter and will continue until either party terminates in writing.

Libra Bookkeeping Services will carry out bookkeeping services periodically as stated in your terms of engagement letter.

As the client you will be responsible for providing accurate information for me to collate. All records are the property of the client and will be handed over at the yearend unless requested before.

It is the client’s responsibility for the detection of any irregularities and fraud and you are obliged to provide full information to me, in order to complete your bookkeeping.

I will not be held liable in relation to you acting on information supplied by yourself or complying with legislation.

Libra Bookkeeping Services rate of fees will be as stated in our signed terms of engagement. This will be charged periodically in line with the frequency of the work. (Monthly, quarterly, or annually)

The client will have ownership of all books and records created in the services provided. However, should there be fees unpaid or disputed, Libra Bookkeeping Services will exercise a lien over such items until the debt is settled.

Should a fee remain unpaid after presentation of the invoice after 30 days, action will be taken to claim back this fee using a debt collection agency. Interest of 2% will also be charged for non-payment.

My work is for your business’s sole discretion and will not be forwarded or be used by a third party.

My AAT licence does not authorise myself to conduct any aspect of investment work.

As a licensed member of AAT, I have obligations to undertake under the Money Laundering Regulations including due diligence, risk assessments, record keeping and suspicious activity reporting.

I am registered with the Information Commissioner under the Data Protection Act 2018. I have responsibilities and legal obligations as a member in respect of processing client’s data securely and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

I will not handle any clients’ cash, but I may have access to bank accounts to print off bank statements and process BACS payments. I will not receive any commission or other benefits for introductions to other professionals or suppliers.

Any complaints should be raised to myself as soon as possible so we can address them. Any unresolved complaints can be referred to AAT.

I can confirm I have a continuity arrangement in place for an accountant to deal with matters in the event of my permanent incapacity or illness. They will have access to my client’s information held in order to make initial contact with you and agree the work to be undertaken during incapacity. You can of course choose to appoint another firm of accountants at that stage if you wish. You are under no obligation to use my contact.
